The Miss Suomi 2022 competition was held on Saturday, September 17, and Petra Hämäläinen took the brightest crown of the competition. She bested out 9 other finalists and will now represent Finland at the 71st Miss Universe competition.

Nana Partanen was crowned as 1st runner-up and Adelaide Botty van den Bruele was crowned 2nd runner-up. Emilia Vuopala and Nana Partanen were media and public favorites, respectively.

Petra is 26 years-old and comes from Savonlinna. She has a bachelor's degree in education and is still studying to become a classroom and home economics teacher. She has a strong modeling background as she started modeling at 16 years-old and made it to the finals of the prestigious Elite Model Look World competition at 19. In her post winning interview, Petra shared she has been watching Miss Suomi since she was little and always knew she'd eventually apply. She hopes to seize all the opportunities that winning this crown is going to provide, amongst which is competing at the Miss Universe competition where she will give everything to make Finland proud. After her reign as Miss Finland, she would love to focus on staying in the entertainment industry, potentially as a presenter.

Dear Petra, GOOD LUCK on your Miss Universe journey! We can't wait to follow & support!
